Chroma Meters

Konica Minolta chroma-meters provide organisations a simple solution for repeatably and traceably measuring the colour of a product or material. Unlike a spectrophotometer (which measures spectral reflectance), a tristimulus colorimeter like these chroma meters measures reflected colour using filters that correlate with the sensitivity of the human eye. The traceable digital colour data from a colorimeter can be used to perform QC measurements to control colour difference from a target. Colorimeters have many applications in industries like foods where spectral data is not necessary or where the larger aperture of a colorimeter can provide a more representative average of a sample colour for less homogeneous samples, they are also widely used for many building materials. The benchtop CR-5 even enables transmittance tristimulus measurement of colour for beverages, juices etc.

Colorimeters are relatively easy to use and can provide instant feedback or pass/fail judgements when a measurement deviates from the stored target colour. The optics are also typically more robust than a spectrophotometer which can be a benefit in fast paced QC environments with many users.

Konica Minolta Sensing's colorimeters can be used independently of a computer to measure colour, they can also be connected to digital colour data software for easier analysis and reporting.
